Brand new 27" making intermittent snap crackle pop sounds around the speaker area.
Is it faulty electronics? I am planning on taking back to store for an exchange.
Does anyone else expereince this with a late 12/13 iMac?

I am having this issue with my 27" late 2012 iMac. The only thing different then everyone else is that the computer is now 2+ years old and I do not have apple care. The issue should not be the bonding tape, due to the age of the computer. What else could cause this issue and what solutions are there besides replacing the computer?
That wouldn't surprise me. If its the same type of foam tape they use on the iphones. Just about every space grey iphone6 ive ever seen has what appears to be foam tape slowly moving into the foward facing camera.
I got the 27"imac 2 months ago and i hear it too. I do hear the expansion noises but also hear the faint cracking coming from the right speaker. I guess if theres anything good, i havent heard anybody say it got worse or the sound dropped out completely or something fried.

I know it's been a while since this post, maybe someone is still following that has an answer.
I just inherited a iMac 27 Late 2013, i5 3.2, OS X 10.12.2. I've tried all the suggestions I could find.
Grounding, Chrome Flash, Faraday Cage, disconnect all peripherals.
When I started using the machine with a clean install, there was the wonderful silence, but over the past few days I got the snap crackle pop, static sound. It literally varies minute to minute. It is slightly effected by screen brightness, but just slightly.
I would so appreciate any leads.
I can't return the machine.
