I have been asked to reset a ipod touch it belongs to my friends son and it is saying ipod is disabled try again in 21790816 minutes can anyone help?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

Thanks but still no joy it just switches on will not go into any other mode.

- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
I have tried this but the ipod just switches back on does not go into recovery mode
