iPhone 5 jumpy screen after latest IOS update?

My wife recently updated her iPhone 5 and after the update the touchsreen was not working properly. it would scroll when she was tapping or it would open a different app when touching the phone app, or even scroll when just passing a finger over the phone with ever touching it. None of this happend prior to the update and my phone has not had any of these issues after the same update. It appears to be an isolated but frustrating case.

Any ideas on what the issue is and how to solve?

Has the phone been turned off since doing the update? If so, you can try doing a hard reset by holding the home and sleep/wake button at the same time until you see an Apple logo. This will often reset issues like this. Lastly, you can backup to iTunes or iCloud and then restore the phone as new. Test the phone and if the problem has gone away, restore from your backup to get your data back. Hope this helps.

As I wrote before, I have the same problem. jumpy iPhone.

I handed the phone for the company from which I bought the device - "Cellcom".

They claimed I gave the device to an external laboratory and therefore, the warranty that I had on the device - has expired.

This nerve!

I never opened the device, of course.

Brand new device! Two months old! And they claimed that I have no longer manufacturer warranty.

Is this Apple's warranty?

Is it possible to send the device to Apple repair?

Thanks for the comments.

zabul.

I took the iPhone repair in Cellcom, of course.

IPhone still under manufacturer's warranty of one year.

They accused me that I gave the iPhone for external laboratory. So they removed my manufacturer's warranty.

I stayed with the iPhone problem, exactly how I bought it (jumps), and they removed the warranty - so I can not fix it.

Hi

I have experienced this problem as well, and it's really irritating!

Initially this happened once every so often, now it happens at least once every two days.

The phone appears to jump around my apps and scroll back and forth completely independently. If I switch the phone off and back on sometimes it will stop, other times it comes back still, but it will cease completely within 2 - 5 minutes.

Did you find any solution to your issues? I'm getting really fed up of this... I've only had the phone for 3 months!

Thanks

I noticed that more people have been adding their complaints about the jumpy iPhone5 screen. I have an update from my wife. Of late, the problem has disappeared. She cannot pinpoint when it stopped so I cannot offer any precise idea of a fix.

I can tell you that I have been making sure that she updates all apps and IOS when the messages come through. I cannot tell you that it fixed the problem but the loose correlation seems to draw that conclusion.

Never did see a support community monitor chime in on this, so I must assume that it happens infrequently and we are the "lucky winners" of the lemon screens.

For the amount of money I paid for this phone, and continue to pay through data and insurance, this should not be a problem! I am so frustrated and wish I purchased the Samsung 4G instead! I took my to the verizon store, and they did a series of "things" that they thought might help. They did not. He proceeded to give me the warranty departments # so I can have it replaced. HUGE inconvenience and so annoying!!! We need a solution to this problem Apple!

I too am having difficulty with a jumpy screen since the most recent update!!!!

When zooming in on anything it jumps left to right, up to down or every which way i don't want it to.

I think for the price of apple products, the support should be more efficient.

There is an apple store in my city but its a 10-14 day wait for an appointment which is ludicrous in my opinion.

Come on APPLE jump in here with a fix please or at least a suggestion on how to fix this problem or with details on a bug fix update please.

Mine seems to be doing this when charging. It scrambles for a bit only during and, for a short period of time, after being charged. If i plug it in for a moment, it will jump and click random things until I unplug it, then all is fine. Maybe the brands of chargers are reacting with something in the updates? Or maybe there's just something shorting out in our power cables that is causing it. Does anyone know if something like that could cause the device to go haywire temporarily?
