Need charger that lies FLAT against outlet.
The dogs and I keep knocking the charger off the side of my kitchen island. Is there some way to adapt the charger (MacBook Pro 2012)? Or is there another sanction charger that will do it?

Did your charger come with the extension cord that can be used in place of the "duckbill" plug piece? If so, slide the duckbill off and the cord on, plug the cord into the outlet and if there is a drawer handy put the charger in the drawer.
There are extension cords available at Lowes that have a "flat" plug for the wall and a 2 or 3 plug at the other end for the device.
If there's no other solution, this may work. No drawer on the island and the outlet under the island shelf is placed so my knee hits it too often. I thought Apple had a charger that flipped sideways - tho it may not work with the new MacBook Pro and L cord. Thanks.
As far as I know there isn't any sidways charger in the Apple line...the cord and three prong plug is the best option.
Wrong respond to ... demmit
Most plugs are at "straight on" 3-prong or big-block-size-plug of some type. That is why the market for "flat head" extension cords exists. I would buy one myself for the flat-head characteristic, but have too many extension cords as is and need to wait for one to fail.
But, Steve, I was talking about the cord that comes WITH the charger, has the standard 3-prong plug at one end and the 'duckbill' at the other end to slide onto the charger body. Wasn't going in alternatives added onto the Apple supplied cord.
Of course, you can by additions such as the sidways plug, have half a dozen chords like that of various lengths, but I was trying to keep it simple at this point.
I wonder what brilliant Apple engineer design the charger so it would stick straight out? Would it be imposlsible to have a plug that went in sideways or one that swiveled?
Which is exactly what I was referring to, thanks Csound.
I hope that's it 🙂
Cut the AC plug off the end of the cord and wire in your own Flat laying plug.

You are not looking for a 'flat' plug, it's a right-angled plug and there are many extension strips that have them, buy one, plug it into the wall and plug the charger into it.
One of these:
Don't have that cord. It would help. Will drop by the Apple store Monday. Thanks
You are more likely to find that at Home Depot or Lowe's, Apple stores normally do not carry extension cords or power strips, at not those in my area.
OK. Thanks.🙂
