Filter apps in the app store on iOS version (iOS 4.2.1 is max)

When I select apps for installation they are often not installed due to the required iOS version is higher than what is possible for this device (iOS 4.2.1 is max).

Is there a way to find out upfront what apps are available for iOS 4.2.1. ?

Is there a way to get an older version (if available)?
