Update glitch? Now ipod screen shows wires icon conneted to itunes but wont let me use my ipod?

Any ideas how to reverse this update and try again without losing my data? Thanks

Sorry, my first post wasn't complete.


It's my sons ipod and i updated it from itunes 847 MB and it took 35 min.


The internet crashed before the processes completed we think and now we 've unplugged were left with the screen icons showing connected to itunes and we're locked out.


If the battery runs flat will it reboot, or do we need to restore? my son is worried that he'll lose his aps and images of his baby sister so I am trying to help him - unsucessfully so far...


Hope you can help. Another complication is I cant put the ipod on the pc gthat the problem occured on.

Try:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- Try on another computer

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
