How is it formatted, for Windows or Mac? A Mac can read and copy files from a Windows hd but not save or change anything to it.

If it is in Mac Format you can delete the files just like you delete something on your computer.

right click

move to trash

then go to trash

empty trash

This will completely delete the file.
