i go to settings and general but it doesn't say update software, even though when i go to download an app it says i need to update my software. HELP PLEASE!!
If you are using IOS 4, you need to connect to iTune (computer) to update software.

The Settings>General>Software Update comes with iOS 5 and later.

You think you have a 2G ipod. Those can ony go to 4.2.1
