Do you need virus protection on iPad

Hi, I've only used my hotmail email address on my iPad lately, I haven't got virus protection on it and I've had a group email sent to all my contacts from my hotmail account. I can see it in my sent folder. It's some http address link to some 'single mom earns money working from home' and I didn't send it, didn't even open my email account that day. I've got a pretty secure difficult password and I always log out. It hasn't scanned as a virus on any of the receivers computers. Is this anything to worry about and secondly do I need virus protection on my iPad? (I've only just got my iPad a week ago).

Thanks for the help in advance!

You would have better security with a Microsoft/Blackberry/Android Handheld OS. In any case, you should change Hotmail password and maybe consider using other (GMail, etc.) than your main mail account in Handheld.

I lost ~$60 from iTunes account via "in-app purchases" of coins to a TinyCo Free One Armed Bandit type gambling game App. that someone else in the house (not a kid) was using.

Ironically, she now has $213,000,000 and rising, worth of gold coins to play the game with. Cheaper than the Casino by far. She is very happy.

I might get some money back by 2014.
