She can only remember the first 2 numbers. I've tried the recovery mode through iTunes twice now. It doesn't work. We wait for an hour on recovery, and the password is still there.

I tried twice, but it seems it took 3 tries. I did the exact same thing each time. I actually think the problem was I needed to be signed into iTunes with his account. That's the ONLY thing I did differently.
