MacBook Pro - Logic Board
Apple Repair replaced;
Thermal Module W/Temp Sensor
PCBA_2.0GHZ,256VRAM(M1)MBPRO 15" (Logic board)
Anyway, I happened to glance at "About this Mac" "More info", and I see a serial number, and it was my original serial number. My question is how is this possible? I could have sworn I read somewhere that if the Logic Board is replaced you lose your serial number, but it's possible that I saw a reference to something else. Comments? I doubt I'll do anything about it, it's just curiosity at this point. I suppose it would be nice for future reference to know if I got a later revision board.
I'd also like to publicly state that Apple Repair not only returned my MBP in A1 condition (in fact I think they cleaned it :)), but the repair itself went beyond my expectations. Total down time was 5 days including a weekend. The machine now max's out at 62*c under load. (2x yes < /dev/null). Way to go guys, great job.
