You can use Disk Utility, I prefer Carbon Copy Cloner though.

Do you have a clone of your disk yet?

Did you clone your disk, and how.
i've tried, but i couldnt
Why not.
Until you have a viable clone I am not going to offer any more directions.
Now, why can't you clone the drive?
it says that the disk cannot allocate memory
How are you trying to do this, DU or CCC to an external drive?
Forget it:
This is how to do it:
Get 1 external drive (larger than your installation at least) use Disk Utility (or Carbon Copy or SuerDuper) to create a new image of your installation on the external drive. Reboot from the external to test that it works.
When you have done that you will be ready to move to the next stage.
using disk utility, using external hard drive
Is the external formatted for a Mac?
its lika a flash card, 1tb
There are no 1tb Flash cards
How is this drive formatted and how big is it.
i said its LIKE, bigger than flash, its like there 6 flashes by size
