Heat Unbarable

I had two macbooks and bolth of them where way to hot! I couldnt keep it on my lap because the heat and I know that much heat in the lap/croch area isnt good for males, it also makes my wrist sweat and makes using it very uncomfortable, I cant stand using my macbook unless its on a desk witch is almost never. Dose apple have any kind of service so I can exchange my macbook pro for mabey a Imac or a cooler macbook? Because besides the heat problems I realy love the mac experience.

I also got my macbook from Frys

Macbook Pro 2.0 1 gig, Mac OS X (10.4.6)

It's normal for the bar above the keyboard to get pretty hot - it was like this on the PowerBook G4 already. If other parts of the top case get very hot, your MBP may have a problem. The palm rests and trackpad should stay quite cool, and the keyboard should only get a little warm, not hot.

Have you installed the SMC firmware update that came out recently? Some MBPs seem to run cooler after the update. What I noticed is that my right fan seems to run more often after the update, and keeps running for a longer period of time.

The "Cooler Design" paragraph on Apples MBP product page is clearly about the looks of the product. Quote:
<< Many notebooks simply raise the flag of surrender, opting for clunkier, weightier designs to deal with internal heat. MacBook Pro innovates its way to a better place. Not only are its parts engineered to squeeze out every last joule of performance, they’re meticulously placed to minimize size. >>

don't elaborate too much, search for the words "Thermal Paste" on this forum or "Thermal Paste macbook pro" on Google,

cheers,

April switcher EXTREMELY pleased with mac osX and the MBP and VERY disappointed by Apple the company (didn't expect much from a big company anyway).

ps: still waiting for apple to aknowledge the thermal paste pb for my 2GHz MBP.
