iMessage still not working, tried everything I could fine

I have been working for days trying to get IMessage to work on my Ipad 2, I have the newest ISO 6.1.2. I have read all the posts and have tried everything to no avail. Even changing my DNS number, reseting, rebooting, restoring, on off with everything I could find even Bluetooth. I do not have 3G just wifi, no problems on my iPhone just the ipad. I have gone to the troubleshooting sight and have done all I could find except to play with my router, which I do not want to do. Is there anything else others have tried besides this?

I understand you would like to use it as expected, but by trying it on another network it would help determine if the router is blocking or interfering with the connection in someway. Differnet devices will connect to the same network without issue while others will not. I would ask the same question if you were having an issue with another application or feature such as facetime, or wifi.

Routers can be finicky at times, especially generic (isp supplied), older models or those with out of date software.

Try rebooting the router by unplugging it for 5-10min, at the same time you can reset the network settings on your ipad by going to settings/general/reset/reset network settings

Make sure the firmware is up to date on your router, this can be checked at the manufacturer website.
