I am having real trouble getting my iPhone to tether to the iPad unless there is a wi fi available. I have the correct data and contract needed but it will not pick up my phone! Has anyone got any ideas? Any help would be very helpful.

How are you trying to tether the iPad? Via wifi tethering?
No via my iPhone. The iPad is fine with other wifi and picks up my pho d when other wifi is about. As soon as I have no other wifi available it cannot pick up my phone. Been into apple store and of course it works so they can't see the problem.
So, if you iPad connects via Personal Hotspot, then there should be nothing wrong with the iPad or the iPhone. But there could be a problem with how you're trying to do it.
