iPhone Warranty

If I buy an iPhone 4S from Hong Kong, and bring it back to Australia, does the 1 year Warranty still apply in Australia? Meaning can I take it into an apple store here? (Assuming I bought the phone outright unlocked).

Thanks. But say I bought it from Australia online, and it was imported into Australia. Would it still be covered under warranty? For example buying it off a website like Kogan?
