thx klaus1

as stated befoe , i have lost ALL of my files on my mac (believe me - i am really upset with myself for not doing a better job of backing up) but do you know if there is a remote chance that those files can be accessd (via an IT profressional) and recovered.

Also- i was reading in a forum that it is (or was) possible to 'split' my partition to something called boot camp which is alwyes microsoft/adobe programs to function on a mac platform. Do you know if this is possible with OS MtLion?

thanks

There is a remote chance that a professional data recovery service can recover some of your files, but they can be epensive, and the more you continue to use your Mac the less chance of recovery as files get over-written.

Bootcamp is for partitioning so that you also run Windows on a Mac. You don't want to do that, do you? 😉
