Moving a file from the MAC to the cd drive (“Superdrive”)
On System Preferences, go to Sharing and Click "DVD OR CD Sharing:" to ON
insert the disk into the drive. You will be asked what you want to do with it. “Open Finder>” Is the answer.
At this point a new Icon will appear on the screen, “Untitled DVD drive.” Double click on it. A screen opens.
You can drag files to this.
Right click on Untitled DVD drive on your screen.
Click Eject.
Mr MAC will as you If your are sure you want to burn the contents of Untitled DVD drive. To a disk. He will also ask if you want to name the disk, which you probably will.
I entered “Test DVD” for the name of the DVD and Stuff for the contents.
At then end of the burn (which takes some while) “Untitled DVD drive” on your screen changes to “TEST.dvd.” I did two files: a screen shot and an mp4. They both appeared in the DVD.
Now I eject the DVD and load it into my old MS laptop. A folder labeled “Stuff.fpbf” (whatever fpbf stands for) is on the desk top and it contains the two files.
The files were there (on the DVD) in the PC. The mp4 played better when I moved it from the cd to the hard drive.
