My Mac Mini (2011) does not display at the proper resolution.

I have my Mac Mini (2011) connected to an LG display (M2362D) via an HDMI cable. The native resolution for my display is 1920 x 1080 59.934 Hz. The highest available resolution in System Preferences is 1680 x 1050. While this is usable, it is noticably not the correct resolution, icons and such appear slightly stretched horizontally. The 1080p, 1080i, and 720p options yield far worse results than the 1680 x 1050 option. I would very much like my computer to display at the monitor's native resolution.

I had this problem when I initially got my Mac Mini, and I was able to fix it with SwitchResX. I have tried using SwitchResX again, but it doesn't appear to work properly in Mountain Lion (my custom resolutions, even when I save them and reboot my computer, are not added to System Preferences or "Current Resolutions", even when the status is "Active".)

My specs and what-not are as follows:

Mac Mini (2011)

OS 10.8.2 Mountain Lion

(I recently upgraded to Mountain Lion, and, in the process of doing so, the custom resolution settings I had made with SwitchResX were deleted)

The display:

LG M2362D

1920 x 1080

59.934 Hz

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Tim
