Will this reset the parental control passcode? Will I loose anything on other devices linked to the same account?
It will clear everything off of the Touch including the restriction passcode. If iCloud is activated on it then it may erase contacts, calendar entries, etc. from other devices.
If I was selling this device is this how I would give it away? In recovery mode?
Why can't you just enter the Restrictions code? Then go into iCloud, iMessage and Facetime and turn them off then Restore it.
Or, do the above and then Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings
I cannot remember the restrictions code. We want to sell it but want to make sure everything is off of it.
If you can access iCloud and iMessage under Settings go there and turn them off.
Then go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings and run it.
I was able to turn off iMessage, however for iCloud if I delete the account on the device does it delete the account from the other device it is on? Also when I get to Erase all content and settings it asks for the restrictions passcode.
Then you will need to put it in Recovery mode and Restore it in iTunes to clear the password.
