Norton Security Extension locks up my MacBook Pro

I removed Kaspersky and installed the Norton Security Suite from Comcast but it has caused me one problem after another. I keep getting prompted to install the Norton Internet Security extension to Safari. - On my Mac Mini it never got installed. I tried. Made several tweaks but to no avail. Searched the Internet without success. - Then I thought it was my tweaks so I tried it on my MacBook Pro and got a spinning pinwheel that froze my system. The only way out was to hold down the power key. On reboot I was prompted to add the norton extension again. If I ignore it my system works but I'm not sure I'm getting the protection from norton that I wanted in the first place. Am I the only one that has downloaded the comcast security suite by norton and the only one having this problem? The Internet searches haven't been much help so I would greatly appreciate some guidance.

John

Comcast has been reported to incorrectly conclude your Mac is a source of spam activity, causing them to send nastygrams and inviting you to install some worthless Norton junk. Whether or not those emails are even legitimate is debatable, but the fact Norton is worthless junk is not. Ignore Comcast and get rid of Norton. Follow Norton / Symantec's instructions and ensure all its components are completely removed.
