Just spoke again with an Apple support person who acknowledged the problem. I asked why the iClould status update all day has not acknowledged the problem and why no one from Apple (who set up this forum and are supposed to support it) have not contributed to this issue on this site. The fellow I spoke with said that the only thng he could do was to lodge a concern on my behalf and could not address my concerns.

Come on Apple!! Steve Jobs would never have let anything like this happen.....over 24 hours of message problems and no communication with their followers?

Been Apple user since 1984...very disappointed.. Hello Gmail...

Seems to have—at last!—cleared up for me, but I am not holding my breath.

I've been using dot mac/icloud/mobile me since it was the free itools, which goes back to the old days of Cyberdog, OS9 and before. Apple has got a seriously good potential package in icloud, but they really need to figure it out. I loved my idisk and hate it that it is no longer. I now sync files between computers with Syncplicity, but it's not as elegant as idisk was. I have pages docs in the cloud, but where are they, really? I keep hoping that they'll throw some brainpower at it and get it right, but even as it is, it's still useful. It seems like in trying to make it more "consumer friendly" they have made it more difficult to control. It's nice to be able to grab a song I've bought that I didn't put on my iphone, but that's not all that wonderful compared to having my novel in the same version on my laptop and iMac—and available wherever I want it to be.

Well, it is happening right here in London as well. For every email I receive, I also get an email stating "Problem during delivery processing" - I have been getting these forever, even though I have set up filtering and tried to train the system on innumerable occasions...

By the way, I only get these messages in iCloud, and not when I check my mail on my macbook.

Any ideas will be very welcome... and yes, we need the learned opinion of someone from Apple!

Seems to be a software issue at the server level. Nothing you can do as a user except wait it out. If you put the "seive error" phrase into googee you will find tens of thousands of hits and many hudnreds of forum discussions from all over the interwebs. It eventually sorted itself out here in the States. Hope it does so soon where you are.

Frustrating? Yes.

Solvable? Yes, but not by real people.

We have been experiencing this error on a new MBP since March. This is a new machine and so, it is the first time we have set up icloud. Our provider is COGECO. It has not gone away. All I've done so far is add the mail delivery error messages as junk but it still means that the in-basket is full of these delievery error messages, one for every email sent. A call to Apple tech support was not helpful. The tech said he had never hearad of the issue and suggested this was a COGECO problem.

How can we over come this error?

My emails are bouncing back to me, especially to one particular domain. I get messages that include:

"error reading SMTP packet"

And, to another domain, an error that says "Connection refused due to abuse. Please contact your email provider".

What the heck is going on? I've created a gmail account so that I can keep communicating with my clients - and I'm beginning to think maybe I should just switch from iCloud! This is not the first time my email has gone nuts.

In my case, I have finally discovered the problem. The provider COGECO apparently changed their system in early March. For some reason, a "filter" was attached to the account that seemed to create a delivery error reply to every email that was sent or received. Once the tech at COGECO removed the filter, the delivery errors went away. This may or may not help others who experience similar error messages, but my advise - check with your provider or check the settings on your on-line web mail system.
