insufficient privileges to access files. Time capsule and migration assistant

Dear All

I have used migration assistant to move files from my time capsule (used for back up) to a new computer. It asked me to provide a different user name for these restored files as a user already existed with that name (yes, me ?!?!) before copying to a new user account. But when I try and access those restored files the directories have no entry icons and I get a message saying insifficient privileges. What am I missing?
