Album artwork problem

When I updated my iPod to the most recent version, about 95% of my album covers were removed, and are now just the grey box with a music symbol. When I try to add artwork to them it just changes the grey box to "Charmbracelet" by Mariah Carey (which I have on my iPod). Also -- On a few of my albums the artists don't show up, so they don't show up when I click on the artist's name. How can I fix these problems?

Try:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Unsync all music and resync

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: How to back up

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
