Problem with sleep mode

I got a new macbook pro. I have problems with sleep mode, so when I close the lid, the light in the front doesn't blink, as it should do when the computer goes in sleep mode, but remains lighting. When I open the lid, the light in the front gets lower and the screen remains black. For its wake up I just need to shut it down with power button and click on the power button again to turn it on. I tried to change in the terminal with "pmset" to hibernatemode 3 and hibernatemode 7, but it doesn't work. I have waranty, but ther is no apple store in our country. Please help me.
