As it says above. Since doing a java update automatically and then shutting down on me.. my mac book will not boot properly.
I can get it to boot in safe mode eventually, usually after 5 to 10 mins of waiting, but will not boot into mormal mode.
How do i cure this?. I have tried disk utility and this saus alls ok.

After looking through the logs again: From what I can tell, the bootup seems to become busy for over two minutes preoccupied with trying to mount the bootcamp partition, which ends in failure. The first boot, which I said looked really screwed up, wasn't actually screwed up. That was a Safe Boot and it was busy, among other things, loading only essential system items. A Safe Boot is much more time consuming than an ordinary boot.
I don't know if simply removing bootcamp will solve the problem. You might want to try that first before doing the reinstall; that is, if you haven't already.
may be a dat question but will reinstall remove the programs and fills on the system or just replace th operating system and leaev the rest as is
it will give you new system files, as of the version on the disc(that's why you need to update back to 10.6.8 afterward), where presumably the problem is, while keeping everything else in place.
ok will remove the boot camp tomorrow first and see what that does. if not will do the restore. thanks for the help. will let you know if it works.
YESSSSSSSSS. Removed Bootcamp. Repaired permissions and rebooted. Took less than a minute to boot normally. Re booted a few times now and its working great. Thanks alot for your help.
