Help please. My mac book pro did a java update and now will not boot oot.

As it says above. Since doing a java update automatically and then shutting down on me.. my mac book will not boot properly.


I can get it to boot in safe mode eventually, usually after 5 to 10 mins of waiting, but will not boot into mormal mode.


How do i cure this?. I have tried disk utility and this saus alls ok.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

After looking through the logs again: From what I can tell, the bootup seems to become busy for over two minutes preoccupied with trying to mount the bootcamp partition, which ends in failure. The first boot, which I said looked really screwed up, wasn't actually screwed up. That was a Safe Boot and it was busy, among other things, loading only essential system items. A Safe Boot is much more time consuming than an ordinary boot.


I don't know if simply removing bootcamp will solve the problem. You might want to try that first before doing the reinstall; that is, if you haven't already.
