How do you turn on the personal hotspot on with a iPhone 3g 8gb?? It is not showing anyway in the general menu to turn it on. Thanks!!!

Call At&T & change your plan...you'll then be able to Tether.
It isn't available on the iPhone 3G.

And yet the quote from this article http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4517 seems to imply it requires a 3GS or higher.
You can't do WiFi using a 3G, that's where the confusion rests, but you can certainly Tether...Bluetooth or USB.
