Binary for Apache 2.2.2 OSX 10.4. Server

Hello.

I am looking to install 2.2.2 on my xserve and wonder if there is a binary available that has been pre-compiled for 10.4.

I would like to a universal Binary at this time, do i have to compile my own?

Any comments gratefully received.

The above link is definately not a precompiled Binary.
You will need to compile your own, as have i.

macupdate do not have a clue.

The problem with any precompiled version of Apache is that you don't know which modules have been compiled in vs. external, and you're unlikely to find a build that fits your needs exactly.

It isn't hard to download and compile a copy of apache. I'd recommend biting the bullet and taking the plunge. You'll be happier with the result.

I dont want to lose authentication for groups in open directory on OSX server.

For anyone interested try thr following to build a universal binary version of apache:

Perhaps you could use modauthldap to get at your open directory. I ended up installing it with Apache 2.2 to be able to auth to our campus eDir (ldap) directory.

As I recall, I got that working on Apache2, but only single users or "All" (Authenticated user), not groups.
But Im not that skilled with LDAP...

Yeah you can specify containers to search instead of the entire directory.
