Binary for Apache 2.2.2 OSX 10.4. Server

Hello.

I am looking to install 2.2.2 on my xserve and wonder if there is a binary available that has been pre-compiled for 10.4.

I would like to a universal Binary at this time, do i have to compile my own?

Any comments gratefully received.

The problem with any precompiled version of Apache is that you don't know which modules have been compiled in vs. external, and you're unlikely to find a build that fits your needs exactly.

It isn't hard to download and compile a copy of apache. I'd recommend biting the bullet and taking the plunge. You'll be happier with the result.

For anyone interested try thr following to build a universal binary version of apache:

CFLAGS="-arch ppc -arch i386 -isysroot /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.4u.sdk" \ ./configure \ --prefix=/opt/apache2 \ --enable-mods-shared=all \ --enable-proxy-balancer \ --enable-proxy-ajp \ --enable-proxy-http \ --enable-proxy-ftp \ --enable-proxy-connect \ --enable-proxy \ --enable-ssl \ --enable-so

Got the above information from:
