My podcasts app shuts down within 10-15 seconds of opening and starting a podcast. I have already tried restarting my phone, updating itunes and re-syncing my phone, etc. The app worked fine yesterday and now does not work.

The attitude is not meant for you guys, its meant for the Apple ppl who I am certain are reading these things via keywords....

Yes to both of your questions, no luck.....

I will be moving onto a better and actually working product.....

FWIW, I myself am a software developer and I'd NEVER release a product without proper testing....and a product where MANY people are receiving crashing errors within a minutes time from loading is a MAJOR issue and its pretty obvious this wasn't tested accordingly.

Aw c'mon.

Don't be a quitter.

It'll be perfect by version 1.19 and iOS8.

And then you'll be sorry.

(You are right. Apple's software QA has never been first rate and it's even worse now. Back in the day you'd think "well it's not perfect but it's a whole lot better than Android with all their lack of standards, etc." Obviously that's not the case anymore. Frankly the only reason I'm still with Apple is I have a pretty significant investment in Apps that work and I do not care to go rebuy them.

The very real question in the marketplace is can Apple turn this around before people like you and me finally lose their patience?)

Ok....you get the award for joke of the day.....i about spewed coffee all over my monitor when I read the "it'll be perfect by version 1.19 and then you'll be sorry" 😁

Good stuff! and yes, you and I both my friend.....I can't even imagine to think of switching to an Android, but a lot of that is because of 3rd party apps....

I think you can agree that if ALL apps had to be developed and implemented by Apple that they probably wouldn't make another dime on them.

BTW, if its helpful....I deleted the app 18 times and worked a bunch of different angles trying to figure out what is causing the hangups....

For me, its certain podcasts that simply are not allowing themselves to be changed to Subscription ON.....once I turn the SUB ON, the darn thing crashes.....So beware of that....

Also, I kept SYNC OFF and SUB OFF when they pop up when the app first loads after re-install....so keep that in mind those of you trying the re-install function.....

Now....since I did more work than they probably did themselves testing it, I'll gladly accept my Apple paycheck 😉

Happy Friday BB!

No, Apple absolutely pays no attention to any of the discussion forums, not even by ‘keywords.’ You might be better off to mail a ‘feedback,’ but not by much... That is one of a ‘few’ blind spots in the Apple Empire. (Notice the quotation marks around ‘few’)

From day one the separate Podcast app has been buggy. To help out in this thread I tried to find out the thread where it tells you how to fix this. It involves deleting the app, and forcing the ‘Music’ app to reload the podcast category as part of its menu, the way it used to be, and worked well. (Apple: don’t fix things that ain’t broke)

Whoever finds it before me, please repost here...

Try this. I have not tried it, but it may work:

With iOS 6, podcasts no longer show up in the Music app, if you have installed the Podcasts app. But if you like to make playlists of podcasts, the Podcasts app doesn't pick these up. If you want to get your podcasts back to the Music app, and be able to access playlists, just delete the Podcasts app. Podcasts will show up after you tap More in the Music app.

Once again Thanks Klaus
