Itunes 11.0.2 won't sync iphone(iOS 6.1.2) or ipod(iOS 5.1.1)

Since I upgraded to iTunes 11.0.2 I am not able to sync my music with my iPhone 4. At first I thought it was a bug in iOS 6.1.2, but today i tried to sync my iPod Touch (3º gen) with iOS 5.1.1 and it has the same problem. iTunes syncs my apps, but when it gets to music it just finishes the sync. I restored my iPhone, and now i have the same iPhone (with the backup copy) but without music, since it does not sync.

iPhone 4, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

I have finally been able to sync music in my devices. In the end i "just" had to uninstall itunes and install it again from 0. I made sure that i had all my music in a safe place and then deleted everything. When i installed it, i just imported all the music again and then connected my iphone. Finally, I can sync again without any problem.

I have Snow Leopard, so uninstalling iTunes was not to difficult, but I read that in Lion and Mountain Lion is more difficult!

Good Luck!

had same problem, but I was able to sync my iphone 3GS with the iTunes 11.0.2 by logging in on the "home sharing" of both iphone & itunes (installed in PC). On your phone, go to "Settings" then go to "Music" then at the bottom, you will see "Home Sharing". activate it by logging in using your AppleID & password. You have to do it in your itunes at your PC too by going to "File" then turn ON your "Home Sharing." you'll need your appleID & pword here too.

I had a similar problem. When I plugged in my iPhone 4s into my mac (everything updated on mac and iPhone) iTunes would just freeze. I recently downloaded some podcasts on my iPhone. I deleted them and then plugged my iPhone into my mac. Now it works fine. Now i just download any new podcasts on my mac instead of my phone. Hope this helps someone.

Thank you all for your advice. At first, I restored my phone and iPad back to the original factory settings. Everything had been working for a while and suddenly we are right back at the beginning. Same problem all over again. I DO have home-sharing on at all times and yes, I have checked it repeatedly. I am not sure I am wiling to uninstall iTunes but I will try the advice you all have shared. Thank you all for your input.

My boss laptop had died yesterday, he has passed me 2 sets of iphone 5 and an 3rd Generation Ipad . As usual, I deauthorised the old laptop, authorised the office new PC, copy of the musics and lastly transfer all his purchases.

However, the 2nd set or spare iphone can't sync, the apps is okay but not the music, its's grey.

I noticed he had 2-3 apple id, is there a way to kill it and used only 1 id?

Can someone please enlighten me?

Thanks & Regards/Rick

I had the same problem, and fixed it (I use WiFi and PC):

Unplug iphone from pc and close itunes

- On iPhone, go to Setting > General > Reset on iPhone

- click "Reset Network Settings"

- let iPhone restart then go to Settings > WiFi, and plug in your router info and pw

Then on my PC I went to Edit > Preferences > Devices, and clicked iPhone under "device backups" and hit Delete Sync History. Plug iPhone back into pc, open iTunes and sync should work.

Yah. I'm now having the same issues. Movies and shows that I was able to sync pre update won't, now, that i've updated. I called Apple and they said that the 3gs is becoming obsolete due to software upgrades. It really stinks because i have two kids and used the ipods for travel. NOw I can't use the ipods how I intended to and I have movies and shows that I bought and can't use those on the road either. Should have never updated!
