My iMac G4 doesn't turn on

Since I picked up my iMac G4 at a store (used of course) when I came home with it it doesn't turn on anymore! The screen doesn't light up, I hear no ''dong'', and I don't even hear the fan spinning! I don't know why, but when I tested it in the store, it was working absolutly fine. It's a 17-inch 1.25 GHz USB 2.0 iMac, and I think is the power supply. But I'm not sure if it's the power supply's fault, and if it was, I don't really know what to buy. I tried to heat the fan at the top, like I'v seen on youtube, but it doesn't turn on anyway. What's wrong with my iMac G4?

Also, it is required to put thermal paste on the CPU colling things when oppening the computer?

Once you break the thermal paste appart, you need to add more & re-attach. [ see below scrap off and re-paste ]

I do not know specifics.

Suppose I want to verify that I atached all the cables correctly and if everything working fine. How many time do I have before the CPU overheat and stop working?

The cpu is not going to overheat in the time it takes you to test the iMac. I think you could safely run it for 30 mins without worry.

By the way I too am the proud owner of a 15" flat panel iMac. I have it just for the attention it gets from others, and sometimes for the beautiful sound from the Harmon Kardon speakers.

SUCCESS! I put the termal paste, I screwed it back quickly (before the paste dry out). Now it works and there's no problem! And I think that it is time to make a video about this computer! Huge thank you to everyone who helped me to repair this Mac! I am so happy now!
