Connecting MacBook Pro with Lion 10.8.2 to HP Designjet 1055cm?
I have a MacBook Pro with Lion 10.8.2 and an old HP Designjet 1055cm. I cannot now connect to it since installing Lion. Any suggestions?

Hi Jef,
Just got a used but very nice Designjet 1055 CM... didn't think getting the drivers would prove so difficult.
Could you possibly send me the drivers i've seen on this thread? peter@greenvalleychurch.net
Thanks so much....
Can't believe I found this thread. This would help a ton if you could send me the 1055cm driver as well.
Please and Thanks
I will send on the 1055cm driver to your email address...
Cheers Ian
Hey, I've been looking for something like this for weeks. Could you please send me the drivers too? Thank you!!
Oh thank god!!! I've been told this would be impossible. Would you please, please send me the driver to install? <3 <3 <3
I have Mac lion 10.7.5 and an HP designjet 1055cm plus. Please send to bobbi.dunham@nscc.ca
🙂
Could you please also send me this driver? jack@ywwproductions.com
Here's a link to the driver: http://www.freeuploadsite.com/do.php?id=35748
I'm running 10.9.2 and this works fine. Put it into HD/Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/ along with the other drivers.
For connecting to an ethernet connected plotter:
Add a new printer from the System Preferences>Printers & Scanners
Select the IP tab and enter the IP address of the 1055CM plotter
Select the HP Jetdirect - Socket protocol
Enter a name for your printer
In the Use dropdown select Other...
and navigate to HD/Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/HP Designjet 1055CM PS3.gz file.
Click Open.
Click Add.
You're done - your plotter should show up in the printer dropdown when you go to print.
Here's an update:
I'm running 10.9.2 and the driver is NOT working fine. Mavericks has done something that causes the scaling to be off by a factor of approx. 9.6%. In other words if you're trying to plot a drawing full scale it will plot out 9.6% smaller than full scale. So be careful here. I've been forced to plotting drawings using a 1.09589:1 scaling factor to get full scale. Unless I can find a way to modify the driver I'll be forced to revert to Mtn. Lion where everything worked!!!
I'm also trying to make this work on 10.9.2 before having to resort to reverting to Mtn Lion. the Driver everyone is linking has been the 1055cm ps3 driver but that driver doesn't allow me to autorotate or orientate correctly. Does anyone have the NON PS 1055cm gz driver? I've always had the most functionality with that.
Please and thank you
For future HP Driver s for MAC, I ws able to find this link from Apple
http://support.apple.com/downloads/DL339/en_US/HPPrintDrivers1.1.1.dmg
Your printer must already be installed using a generic driver for this to be available, but it worked great and the post script and regular drivers for the DesignJet 1055CM and Plus models are on the list.
Good Luck
Patrick
I think what you are doing to help everyone is amazing! Can i get that driver as well? kyleblack01@gmail.com
Thanks Kyle
I haven't had any luck with the solutions posted, if you could send the driver my way as well, I'd truly appreciate it! whosmicah@hotmail.com

Put it into: Macintosh HD/Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/
It works for Mavericks as long as you don't have any user defined paper sizes. With these you'll have to test to see what size output you get and then scale the drawing accordingly. We downgraded to Mtn Lion to avoid this problem until Apple fixes the user defined paper routines.
Good luck.
