New battery for Macbook Pro A1278?

Hi. I have a Mid 2009 Macbook Pro (Model: A1278).

I have gotten the notification saying that I should replace the battery soon. So, I want to be prepared and have a battery ready for when it says 'replace now'.

I was wondering where you guys got your replacement batteries. I have heard of ifixit.com, so I have been thinking about getting it there.

What would you recommend?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

This is the OWC Battery page, though I don't see a 13" MBP you might contact them and see what they have and the price...gives you another price point to use making a decision.

Out of curiosity, jsut what is the info on your battery state: apple in the left corner of the Menu bar, About This Mac, More Info, System Report, Hardware, Power and then the battery condition, cycle count, capacity, charge remaining?

Ok, that battery has had an exceptional life span, projected cycle life is 1,000 charge cycles so you have a star performer. The capacity has dropped is why it says to replace soon, you are getting into the low area now...battery life is based on a capacity less than 80% of as-built being the end-of-life condition. Batteries still work at that point but the useable charge time starts getting pretty low.

Your voltage is very good, should be in the 11 to 12.5+ range so you have a great battery, shame to have to replace it, but best to start making plans.
