Imac G3 wont Boot,load and now wont start up.

I have an Imac 3G. I got it a few days ago. On the first try of booting it was loading OS 9.2 and crashed, restarted it and it gave the folder flashing icon, I got it to go onto the smiling mac icon but it got stuck on it, and just a few minutes ago, it stopped turning on. So, do you know if there is any hope and anything I should do?

iMac, Mac OS 9.2.x, Bondi blue.

I Can't update the firmware as I can't get onto the desktop as it won't boot.

I have got the disc's but when i put the first one in and hold down the c key at startup nothing happens.

Has anyone got any idea
