Believe us Scugnizzo.90 !

Do not go to 1600 !

I have read the italian paper you linked to me with the comparison speed tests 1333-1600. They claim an increase in some test. I have not made the arithmetic but the increase was few points %.... Do you wish to run a risk for that minimal increase if any ?

And remember also increasing the RAM you do not get a great increase in speed, you get only the possibility to keep more apps open and running. This is a general rule.

I increased the RAM in my MBP from 8 to 16 and I can confirm the above from my feeling, not from Tests which can eventually demonstrate a light increase. And I did it in a more general operation: the 2 RAM sticks each 4GB removed from the MBP are now running in my iMAC 27 in the 2 slots left free (it has 4) and now the iMAC has also 16 GB. Two increase with one price !!!

And about the suggestions from other forums: I do not say they may be right. I tell you that here we are on Apple Support Communities. All of us, even if not Apple Employes, are under the signed agreement to give only safe and tested suggestions. We can have different opinion of course but I am sure (because it happened to me) if someone writes a clear wrong statement he will receive a more clear and public correction.

Do not compare Apple Support Communities with other forums.... Stay on 1333 !!!!
