Phones sold in KSA and UAE have had facetime permanently removed as they are banned by law. Phones acquired in those countries that have facetime on them were imported and sold there illegally.

There is not, and never has been a facetime 'app' on any iPhone. On those that contain it, it is accessed through contacts. Make sure it is turned on in Settings. If the setting to turn it on is not present, then it can not be installed.

Is Extra an officially authorized Apple reseller for iPhone? Sounds like they are buying iPhones from the gray market and reselling them. Hers originated from a country where Facetime is not restricted and yours did.

i think so,, the store is huge for electronics and appliances. I have one year warranty also.. one of the staff in Extra store told me to ask advise in apple support for this problem.what should i do..??

I can find nothing on the Apple site that shows Extra to be an authorized reseller, they do not even show an authorized carrier in Oman. Call AppleCare to confirm this but they appear to be a gray market seller.

Guys thank you so much for the advises and helps.. i went back to Extra store and finally they changed my unit to a new one..Now i can figured out which one has facetime or none, from the box itself at back it writtens arabic so definetely no facetime and if english, portugese and chinese characters has 100 % with facetime.. I'm so blessed that they agreed to changed my unit to new one. At first the manager opened four boxes of new unit for me to check if facetime is there and he reassured me there's new batch of iphone5 coming on 2nd day. So i went back and he changed it to new one.. 🙂

if facetime has blocked in Oman, y my macbook and my other friend has facetime installed in there gadgets.. Can i make a request for replacement of new one?
