I am attempting to calibrate my MacBook Pro battery. I have read Apple's instructions but have a question. After it has been at full charge for 2 hours can i just leave the screen saver on and let it fully drain until it goes to sleep.? I was thinking about doing this just before I go to bed so it would be more than 5 hours asleep. Then plug it in when i get up in the morning. Does this seem ok? Thanks

Yes, that should do it, but what I do is play a dvd and let it drain that way, then when it is sleeping, let it sleep for 10 hours to make sure the battery is very empty, then plug it in and let it charge for 4 to 5 hours, for best results, try not to turn it on as it is charging to make sure you get an even charge and the battery computer has the good reading.
Thanks very much. Playing a DVD now to drain it and will let it sleep all night. I gather it sleeps until it shuts itself off writing the files to the HD
One thing to remember if you’re not going to actively use the computer while it’s discharging is that you’ll have to change the power settings so the system does not go to sleep. Keeping the display on continuously will speed things, too, as will turning its brightness up.
