Broken iPod Touch Screen Glass Replacement

Recently my 64 gigabyte 4th generation iPod Touch screen has been damaged. It fell off of my lap and onto a hard tile floor. The glass shattered on the top of the iPod's front. I'm 87% sure that the glass is broken, not the screen.

I have two questions:

1. Can the glass on my iPod's front be replaced by one of the Apple Store Geniuses or will they have to send it in to Apple to be repaired (in which case they'll sell me a replacement iPod for $200)?

2. If it can be repaired in-store, how much will the replacement cost, including parts and labor?

iPod touch, iOS 6.1.2, 64 Gigabyte 4th Generation
