How do you record your iPhone's screen?

I would like to be able to record my iPhone's screen (for demos and stuff like that). However, there are some limitations:

1. No jailbreak—I am not jailbroken and am completely uninterested in becoming so.

2. $0 to spend—the solution must be free.

3. Nothing crazily complicated—though I am capable of doing advanced things with computers, if I mess up our computer it would not be good.

4. Downloads must be safe and minimal—in our house we are very worried about privacy and hackers so there should really only be one download involved. Also, my iPhone is only 16GB, so the download can't be too big. Also, this is my main and only phone and our main and only computer we are talking about. This can't be one of those things where they say "oh, it might crash your phone." This has to be a tried, working, safe and reliable solution.

I know it's a tough question, but I'm hoping someone somewhere will have an answer.

You are my hero! This is the EXACT same question that I have. (It's amazing how many people ignore the points of "no money" and "keep it simple" and "legal/no viruses") I'm really sorry that I have not found a solution myself to share with you. If I do, however, I will be sure to keep you informed! I'm surprised that Apple didn't just include this screen video capture as a built in option on the device, like they did with screen photo capture.

In all seriousness 12 dollars? Put a dollar aside each paycheck and u will have it in a few weeks. Like wow free solution to an app youre going to use all the time. You are a waste of the apple community. If u like the app and its features and are really going to use it stop wasting all this time for a non solution problem. Because i will tell u if i am struggling into finding an answer for something i dearly want so bad i would pay someone 20 dollars to give me a solution i couldnt find. And not tell a forum full of people who purchases apps all the time that u dont want to purchase an app

If you have an iPhone there's a thing that you search up on safari on iPhone and its called emu4ios.weebly.com/downloads.html and go to record my screen and wait a few seconds for it to download and your all set

Try record my screen on www.emu4ios.net scroll down utill you find it, and then follow the download instructions :-)

Just over a year late. Always worth checking the dates on posts. We've all done this, multiple times. By the way, recommending software which requires jailbreaking is a big NoNo here. Don't do it.

I can't get Reflector to work. It doesn't Airplay connect with my laptop.

Hello! I was facing this problem too and found the solution on http://www.tekrevue.com/tip/record-iphone-screen-quicktime/.

However, the only catch is that its only available in OS X yosemite and iOS 8.

To solve this question with the progressions made since the original question started for the benefit of any other people searching the same topic: with Yosemite, it is ridiculously simple to record your iOS devices screen using QuickTime and the lightning cable.
