How do I start making applications for Mac?

I want to be able to make applications for Mac, but the only programming language that I've learnt so far is Applescript (I have also learnt a bit of forth, but I don't think that it would make a difference). Also, how long would it take? (I'm prepared for it to take a long time, it's just that I don't have a lot of time on my hands.) If there are any online tutorials that are useful, could you please provide some links.

You're welcome.

Be prepared for the long haul. Getting a simple app up and running is fairly easy, getting something that others will want to use is something else. If you have the opportunity to take some college level courses on programming you might what to consider that.

Also check out iTunes U. There are a number of programming courses available there.

Finally at some point if you want to put your apps into the Mac App Store you will have to join the Mac Developer program. The good thing about developing for Mac's (as opposed to IOS) is that there are no restrictions on putting your app on a OS X system. You don't have to be a developer to run your code (or have others run it).

If you develop for IOS you need to be a paid developer to even put your code on your own IOS device.

regards
