Need help in creating Playlist Folders off of the folder/sub folder structure in my PC

Hello

I have all my music organised in my music folder, the folders go pretty deep. So what I would like to do is copy all of the content to Itunes Library and maintain the same folder structure.

For examples here is what I have

C:\MyMusic\MyFavs\English Classic-> Songs

C:\MyMusic\MyFavs\English Pop-> Songs

C:\MyMusic\Hindi\Ghazaals\Singer1\-> Songs

C:\MyMusic\Hindi\Ghazaals\Singer2\-> Songs

The problem is when I drag the folder for example "MyFavs" to Itunes, it puts all the songs all together under the same playlist folder, thereby messing my organization.

Does anyone know if this can be done by means of scripts, or any tool (Free or paid) ? I just have way too many folders and subfolders to create them manually to maintain the order?

When I drag a folder on the icon internet explorer does not open like it does on a windows 7 machine. I just get the error

OK, that's a different error that I'm not getting after I made the earlier edit. Let me have a look, in the meantime the description of the error would normally be helpful.

Aha, in this case I can see that the line reads Set iTunes=CreateObject("iTunes.Application") which probably means that the iTunes automation object isn't registered properly. Try repairing iTunes from the programs and features control panel.

Setting Prog to False as suggested above suppresses the Internet Explorer window which is probably a good move on Windows 10 right now. Unless the folder tree is huge you probably don't need that feedback anyway. I'm not sure offhand why that line is causing a problem. I don't have time to investigate just now but hopefully I can figure out a workaround in the next day or so.

OK. Turns out the EnableLUA script should be able to fix the progress bar problem so it can be used. I just need to update the detection mechanism so it doesn't try to work when it can't.

I've uploaded a new version of ImportFolderStructure that will suppress the progress bar rather than generate an error if it cannot be used. How are you getting on with repairing iTunes? If needs be see the user tip Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
