ipod keeps turning off when not charged

Hello fellow iPod users. I want to ask you all a question. Why does my fist generation iPod touch keep turning off when it's not plugged into the wall. I tried to plug it in to my computer and it doesn't work. It only works when it's plugged into the wall. Is it a battery issue? If so, where can I find an apple store in New York or where can I get a new iPod touch battery. I would appreciate if you guys too kyour time to help me out 🙂. Thank you!

Restore it in itunes, maybe there is a software fault in your ipod.

If this doesnt work let the battery die and then charge it again.

Search on the internet for your local apple store.

There are alot of apple stores in new york

Will restoring it delete every app and all my music because I have alot of music on it and I paid alot of money for the apps?😕

Restoring from backup will make the iPod like it was if all the synced media like apps and music are in your iTunes libary. The backup that iTunes makes does not included synced media.

You can redownload iTunes purchases by:

Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Thanks, but how am I going to let the battery die if I can't unplug my iPod. It'll just turn it off again

Hey guys my ipod still doesn't work and I still didn't restore it yet. Now the usb appears connected to itunes, so when I plug it in to my computer it doesn't turn on.

Well I know how to restore my ipod. The problem is that it still doesn't show up in the source panel>😮
