Hi-
I have an old Mac SE FDHD and when I boot I get a blank screen with a white line througt it. The brightness control works but it doesn't do much.

Not sure that line appears vertical or horizontal, though it's a analog board problem.

The title says white screen, and then a white line is mentioned in the text. Where is the line (centre or side)? Vertical or horizontal? Gray background? Anything else displayed?
Can any sounds be heard?
Possible problems could include things like cracked solder joints and faulty electronic components.
Please note that only someone with the necessary expertise should open a compact Mac. The computer contains high-voltage circuits, and work inside can be very dangerous.
