Help! Still NO SOUNDS after 6.1.3 update for iPad 3

I still do not have any sounds coming out of my ipad 3 even after the 6.1.3 update. This started happening since I updated to 6.1.2. What to do?

iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi, iOS 6.1.3

Headphone fix is not the fix for me. Still the same problem. When audio comes back on for a few seconds and it is crackles and drops out to nothing again. Headphones do work however. CS didn't help they weren't aware of any audio problems even after it is showing on the apple communities. They have their heads in the sand again and that is being nice.

I, too, have had this problem since updating to 6.1.3. After reading tons of posts all over this board, I think I've fixed some of the issue but not all! Here's what I did:

--double clicked the home button (bottom center) and swiped to the left TWICE. When I did this there was no volume slide available. I hit the button just to the right of the volume and "Dock Connector" was checked. I checked "Apple TV" and "Mirroring" is off.

When I double clicked the home button after this, the volume slide appeared and it was muted. I've since slid it to full volume and now am getting alerts, but still can't play my music through the speaker--it's going through my Apple TV 😟

Hi Everyone

After trying losts of these types of suggestion I gave in and returned to my local Apple Store. The genius bar staff tried many of the same things but in the end said the only solution was to replace the iPad. Apparently there must have been some damage to the connector so that the iPad still thought it was docked. I now have a re-worked iPad thanks to my Apple Care policy.

I am the same here. I have a 3GS (Don't shoot me, I have had it since new and it has been the best phone I have ever had), I updated it to 6.1.3 and since then there has been no sound coming from the external speaker (using headphones allows me to listen to music etc). I decided it was worth trying to go to the Apple store here in Newcastle UK, they took my 3GS and opened it up, gave it's inside a clean and then proceeded to wipe the phone and start from scratch (I had already done this several times but they obviously wanted to be sure).

After an hour and a half in the store the staff member told me that he was 100% certain it was a software related issue (wich I already told him but I understand they have a process to follow), so Aplle admit to me that their software is what has caused issue with my otherwise brilliant 3GS.

However he then opens his mouth to tell me that although it is their software that has caused the issue, they would charge me £129 to replace my 3GS with a brand new one?! Erm.....I don't think so, I don't know anybody who would still pay that price for a 3GS, but what really got to me was the fact they all admitted it was the fault of Apple, however they were unwilling to do anything to help me other than charge me for giving me a new phone.

I don't want a new phone, there was nothing wrong with the one I had until I updated to THEIR latest release of iOS. Sort it out Apple, I hope your next iOS update addresses and fixes this issue.

DId anyone work out how to fix this issue?recently my ipad, always been in a griffin case went funny overnight, the volume on it went faulty and when my alarm tried to play I woke to scratchy static sounds and occasionally it doesn't work at all and just goes quiet.

i Have tried the mute button, I know it's there when you slide up the screen and swipe to the right

i would bring it to apple but I'm a few months out of my one year warranty and apple care wasn't offered to my mum when she bought me this ipad in Hong Kong on Holliday.

anyone have any ideas?
