Any way to find iPod Touch serial number after it has been lost/stolen?

I'm pretty sure I still have the box somewhere but I'm away from home for the time being and lost my iPod Touch over the weekend. After my digging I just can't seem to figure out if I can trace purchase history or associated devices in itunes back to the serial number of the device. I know this is a longshot and I might just have to wait until I can visit home and tear up my room looking for that stupid box... but if anyone could help, it would really supplement the police report nicely. Thanks!
