I am having the same problem, no audio on my Macbook Air 2011, 10.7.5.

In both the preferences and the Midi audio setup, no internal mic or speakers are showing up as options, the only listed option is LogMeIn Remote Sound for Input and Output.

I have uninstalled LogMeIn and I don't know why it is showing up.

If I restart in Safe mode, LogMeIn is gone but there is still no input or output - there are no choices listed in the sound preferences.

I have restarted, reset the SMC and reinstalled the combo update for Lion 10.7, tried with headphones.

I haven't been able to do a PRAM reset, when I try it just goes to the grey screen then turns off, then back on to the grey screen without ever completing the start up process. I let it rotate in that grey and off about 9 times, and no startup noise either.

I did have success for a day by creating another user - the sound worked in that user, but than only lasted till the next day.

Any other ideas before I go to hardware fixes?

Thanks
