iOS 6.1.3 battery drainage

Last night I updated my iPhone 4S to a iOS 6.1.3 and now it drains my battery in extremely fast manner. As I started signing in to write this question from my iPhone I already lost 13% of my battery. I never had a problem with a battery and ive been using iphones since the first one. i miss my morning class because of it because my alarm clock didn't because my phone was dead. Please fix it or have no choice but buy Samsung GS4

@Berle

Thanks for posting your processes. I have essentially the same list showing on my iPhone 5. I am curious as to why my Mail, Camera and App Store are always actively running? The Phone makes sense and the App Store may on by IOS default to check for updates but the Mail and Camera running all the time makes no sense to me. No idea if they might be drawing any battery power, but they are the only other Apps that are listed as running yet do not in any way show as being 'open' from the user interface or the list of open apps (when double clicking home button).

PS: My mail is set for manual checking only (fetch = manual), push is off and no type of notifications or auto checking used.

Oh la! You typed the whole list. MINE a bit differerent. I would type it if it helped anyone at software fix dept. Good for you.

By the By I can get Camera and AppStore to go off..

. Open them again. Have them do something ..shut, then remove from base home screen again.

.. after you do that .. RUN your Free Memory clear..and voilå they are gone.

I also have one thing that won't SYNC w iTunes

and one with Everynote.. I have yet to discover what those are..even though it says to go to iTunes,

I have no idea how to get an error report.

Wel,l I will say I am glad the 5's are getting it now too. Maybe we will get a fix. They would ignore 4S I think.

iOS 6.1.3 caused both a dramatic battery drainage on my iPhone4 + connectivity issues (text message, phone call issues).

Personally a great fan of iGadgets with the house & pockets loaded with iPods, iPads, iPhones, AppleTVs etc. As a self-observation, however, I've now reached a tipping point where my personal comms usability & reliability requirements force me to seek for another, hopefully better suited device. Perfectly aware that the battery drain & connectivity effect may not be universal, may not appear in all environments & some tweeks here & there might improve the situation a bit, but doesn't really make a difference - I need my phone & messaging to work.

Have now twice faced the battery drainage problem over the past few years (step change with an iOS update that makes the device useless). The first one was eventually fixed with an iOS update, but for the second time I'm not willing to wait nor to read through threads with minor optimization hints when the problem is fundamental. The simultaneous connectivity issues after iOS 6.1.3 have now almost cost me a fortune with critical calls & text messages failing to go through.

So continue to love the gadgets for many other purposes but personally this is the time to check if other smartphones can better meet my requirements for reliable comms. Hope the bug gets fixed & the iX:s get back their battery span needed for my other use cases.

after applying ios 6.1.3 update, my iP4 is also having battery drainage problems. it has maximum 2/3 days longivity before it shuts down( moderate wifi browsing, calling, sms etc.). i turned icloud off, fetch is manual, 3g off, imessage n facetime off etc etc. don't know when it will be normal. i tried amost all the tweaks that i found on this thread, but no avail.

btw guys, i need something to know about. if i erase all content n settings on my iphone, ios 6.1.3 will remain intact or it will be formatted along with other data n settings? if ios is formatted, then how can i load ios into it?
