If you install a 64-bit app on a Mac with a 32-bit processor, it just won't open. However, if you have a 64-bit processor and you install a 32-bit app, it will run without any problem, because 64-bit processors and operating systems are compatible with 32-bit apps.


You have a Mid 2011 iMac, that includes a 64-bit processor and a 64-bit operating system like OS X Lion, so you don't have to worry about it
