You beat me to it - I saw that come into my inbox and I was incensed. Seriously are we all clueless enough to have not tried that?

However, as I've said, there's definitely seems to be some 'sensitivity' in 6.1.3 to the wireless channel on which peoples' routers/APs are broadcasting. I've been running for 24 hours now without issue by setting my router to a channel in low utilisation in this neighbourhood.

Got a new phone, upgraded without checking the upgrade details and bam no wifi. I have tried everything listed as most others have to no avail.

My wifi slider is not greyed out but only picks up one of about 5 networks available, I am not able to pick up the two public unlocked free networks where I work. Obviously not ideal.

My ipod touch which is not upgraded (dont think my 3rd gen can be?) works fine.

There is no doubt that this is a software malfunction and handing out new phones to those with warranty and telling older customers to buy a new phone is terrible customer service. If they have to hand out new phones this CONFIRMS that the software is bugged and there is no known solution.

With the Galaxy S3 coming in strong this year, Apple better watch out.

Had no auto wifi connection when home with my 4 since the .3 upgrade came out. Tried all the fixes to no avail Talked to apple and he said to turn phone off cellular when home and turn on when out- phone has had wifi at home after 2-3 days of learning to automatically connect when I came home - works like a charm now I had to put the password in for a few days but it's fine now and it taught itself. See if this works !!!

Seriously Apple! Aren't you going to acknowledge there's an issue and fix this? It's not about router channels or router firmware. The issue resides on the upgraded device itself. Even entering the network SSID and password manually when it goes into this mode yields the error "unable to scan for networks at this time" or some such.

Pretty poor play to leave folks with severely disabled devices and no clear guidance as to the true cause or time to fix. Perhaps it's time to take a closer look at Samsung's offerings.

If only I could Sid Harper. The wifi at my work is hotel wifi. You can either pay for the service or use a promotion code via a log in screen. Either way there are a lot of hotspots. Called the company (stargate.ca) today to confirm and ask if anyone else had problems. The answer was no, but I'm willing to bet there will be just as we had problems with guest devices when using the newer iPads.

EN - This is very sad, I bought my iphone 4s have 2 weeks, last week I update to iOS 6.1.3 and to my surprise, my problems started with the wifi every once in a while it detects networks and more non concect almost always it turns gray, called today for macstore of my city and the attendants asked me to return with the unit since they were already aware of the "WIFI BUG" and that I would be 20 days in hopes of a new device well, i will try this tomorrow, then I count more details ...

@ PT-BRAZIL

EN - I have the same problem here in Brazil, the grayed wi-fi button after updated to 6.1.2, and 3 weeks later I sent my iPhone 4S to the apple support and they returned it to me without fix anything, and the comments says that I probably had violated the device !! My device is perfect! So I still with the problem and apple continue to don't say anything about that !

UNACCEPTABLE !

This is exactly my problem. When I go out of wifi range and come back in it will not connect automatically. I have to go into settings/wifi and have to click on the network I want. It does this at home and at work and never did it before. Hopefully mine will "relearn" as well. Even if I just shut wifi off and turn it back on, it will not reconnect without selecting a network even though there is only one available.

So i have my ipod touch (3rd Gen) IOS 5.1.1 sitting next to my newly upgraded phone 3GS.

Guess which one shows NO NETWORKS and guess which one shows FIVE?? I do not have a greyed out slider, just no wifi networks showing at all.

I did not buy an Iphone so I could not have wifi, I bought the iphone to get rid of the ipod. Ironic right?

If Apple can't fix it and the Genius's think the product is garbage after the upgrade....then jailbreak to older version?? Never done it but if I can't use my phone as it was intended, then what do I have to lose? Anyone tried it? How hard is it to go back to the official IOS once the bugs are fixed?

you can probably tell I spent all night fliddling with the thing, getting nowhere. There is no Mac shop where Iive.

Went to the Genius Bar and they got the wireless working in the store...but while they were checking it, it went out and then greyed out when they went to the wifi button. The tech said that it was a hardware or firmware issue that was brought about with the upgrade to .3 . He said that sometimes the upgrades bring up issues that were already in the phone. Anyway, they gave me a new phone and so far it works fine...of course, I didn't do the upgrade to .3 on it...think I will wait a few weeks to enjoy having a phone that works again the way it is supposed to work. I will do the upgrade though before the warranty runs out (90 days from now) though, so that if I need to take it in again to swap out, I won't be charged (other than the time and trouble).

That is the question, my iphone 4s have 2 weeks of life, stranger no? I left the android because wanted a phone safer, more complete and well-targeted market, I was 2 years with my motorola atrix and never had any problems, I am very sad about this situation, I always had a lot of friends with iPhone's, iPad's, iPod's and always found pretty cool, I thought this was the time gave buy an iphone, I am very disappointed with is my first experience, apple anymore.
