I have run Disk Utility.
I downloade and ran ACLr8.
I have gone into the Library files->File->Get File Info-> added my user name and gave Read & Write permissions.
Still getting the pop-up every few seconds.
Been occuring since I downloaded the lastest OS X update.
Any fixes to this problem yet?

but what if there are no users in the list that comes up after you run the resetpassword command in the terminal. 😟
Make sure you've selected the startup hard drive from the menus before looking for the user.

There are no volumes or anything in any of those lists. . . What I meant to say is that whole password reset page is blank and none of the buttons can be pressed.

I don't know what to do in that case.
I had the same issue after upgrading to macOS.
Fixed it by recreating the user account.
1. First delete the user account by logging in from another user account, choosing to Leave the user’s home folder as is
2. Rename the home folder by removing (Deleted) so that the folder name becomes the account name of the deleted user.
3. Then create the user again with same name
If there's a white space under where it prompts to select a volume, they have FileVault turned on.
What OS version are you using?
It has changed in Sierra, so if that is what you are using then the command would be:
repairhomepermissions.
Any idea what to do here if my user isn't showing in the list to repair?
